Today is the BIG DAY!!!!

One of the blogs I stalk (hmmm.... read) is MckMama. Let me give you some back story:Mck Mama is a wonderful Jesus loving mommy to three kids, ages 3, 2, and 1. Today she will be delivering her fourth! Here's a quote from her blog about this special little guy: "He [Stellan] was quite unexpectedly given to us, and even more unexpected was his diagnosis of heart failure: Premature Atrial Contraction at 20 weeks; Supraventricular Tachycardia, hydrops, and intermittent advanced secondary heart block at 23 weeks; and enlargement of the heart at 32 weeks. We were told at 24 weeks that he would surely die. God performed a miracle and MckMuffin is still with us! The doctors are unsure about what will happen to our baby when he is born. But God is not unsure!! We are praying for MckMuffin's full healing, but we know that God is good no matter what He decides."

Will you join me in praying for STRENGTH, PEACE, JOY, and ACCEPTANCE on this day full of unknowns? Only God knows what will happen.

Amazing Home Remedies

SIMPLY AMAZING HOME REMEDIES ACCORDING TO A MAN

1. IF YOU'RE CHOKING ON AN ICE CUBE, SIMPLY POUR A CUP OF BOILING WATER DOWN YOUR THROAT. PRESTO! THE BLOCKAGE WILL INSTANTLY REMOVE ITSELF.

2. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

3. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK.

4. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.

5. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

6. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.

7. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

8. REMEMBER - EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM.

9. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN THEY ARE PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

I found Him

I have always (well as far as I know) believed in God. I pray to Him on a daily basis and know He exists. My family is Southern Baptist so its definitely been around me. But I have never learned the Bible and never really knew what it meant to be a "follower." Until now.

I stumbled upon 2 blogs that have totally captured my heart. Both are women that found out during pregnancy that their babies would not live outside the womb. Both are VERY Christian women and still praise Jesus even when their babies left this Earth to be in Heaven. And I am just AMAZED!!! by both of them. I have been reading and reading and reading their blogs everyday. Mainly to get to know them and to learn more about our Lord.

Since Gavin was born I have been wanting more and more to find a church family and start teaching him about God. But we still have yet to find a church here in town. I do not know the Bible, so how will I teach Gavin about Him? In Angie's blog, she mentioned that she started learning by reading Children's Bibles. So last night, Mimi & I went to Wal-Mart and I got our first Read & Learn Bible. My hope is for me to learn so I can teach Gavin.

I am going to post the links to these 2 magnificent ladies blogs so you can check them out if you want. I do ask you a favor though. Please comment me with your favorite Scripture and why its your favorite. I figure I can learn through you and it will soak in even better when its personal. So thank you ahead of time :)

Todd & Angie Smith lost their daughter Audrey after just 2.5 hours. Meet their family.
Spencer & Stacy Delisle lost their son Isaac after just 16 minutes. Read about their journey.

These blogs are beautifully written. But I warn you, some tears may fall.

Community Helper Day

Today was Community Helper Day at Gavin's daycare. The teacher let us know YESTERDAY!!!! that we could dress up our kiddos. So last night at home I am trying to scrounge something together. Halloween costumes were NOT allowed. Well great. I had NO idea what to do. I dug through his clothes, called my mother-in-law to see what she thought and finally Danny came up with a great idea!!!! I put his little boots on, some jeans, a nice shirt and made him a badge that says Brown County Extension Agent Gavin. So hes already following along in his daddy's footsteps :)

One weird fetish

When I was little I had this thing for bathrooms. Yes, bathrooms. Ask my mom. We had to stop in every town so I could go check out the bathrooms. She still teases me about it. Although these days, people arent as creative when it comes to decorating their bathrooms. Then Thursday, my boss took me, Teena, Maria & Sandra to lunch at the newly rebuilt Mi Familia Restaurant out in Early. Imagine my surprise when I went into the stall to go t.t. A very cool, very mexican potty. I was so excited, I took a picture :)

Have I mentioned the "Its the little things?"

Rainbow

While I was driving out to Early to pick up Gavin the other night I noticed a Rainbow ahead of me. After about 10 pictures with my phone I finally got a few that looked good.

*and yes... i was watching where I was going.... thats why it took me at least 10 shots to get good ones!*

More "Little Things"

Some of my FAVORITE things EVER are office supplies!!! Seriously. I. Love. Them. All of them.

Including themed paperclips.
And ladybug pushpins.

OMG they are awesome!!!!

Kohler Picnic

Saturday we went to Edward's company picnic at Riverside Park. There were tons of things for the kids to do... including 3 Big Bouncy Castles, a coin toss, a pinata, ice cream, sno cones, etc. Gavin loved the bouncy castles...until the bigger kids got in and kept bouncing him too much. We finally plucked him outta there before he got hurt. Then they did the Coin Toss. They have bales of hay lined up in a square with spread-out hay in the middle. They then toss coins (probably $10 worth of quarters, nickels and dimes) all in the hay for the kids to dig for... they get a minute to get as many coins as they can find. Mostly all you hear is the parents coaching their children (well except Gavin's because Mommy had laryngitis and couldnt talk, much less coach!) So luckely... Sandra was there :) She coached Gavin to move the grass around and find the buttons (which Gavin calls coins). And lo and behold, he came out a Winner! He found 1 quarter and 2 sticks!!! He was soooooooooo excited!! Thanks Sandra for being my voice and helping out Gavin!
After all the commotion, we went down to see the geese. They were so pretty and noisy... dang those things are noisy! After all, it was a good day. Definitely wouldve been better if I could talk...but Danny did a good job translating for me :)

Silly pig...

Friday night we went out to Lonnie & Crystal's house out near Bangs. They have lots of cool animals... chickens, peacocks, cows and a pig. The pig is a friendly little fart and Gavin loved to chase him. Only problem was, the pig loved to chase Gavin too! After one little chase, Gavin got "nosed" by the oinker and he was NOT happy about it :)

Look Ma....No hands!!!

Happy October!

It's officially October! Im soooooooooooo ready for cooler weather, long-sleeve t-shirts, jeans, Halloween, lots of candy, and sailing right into the Holidays! Gavin has decided (yes, on his own!) that he is going to be Batman this year :) Its just so funny to me that he has gotten on this Batman thing lately. As far as I know, hes never even watched Batman! But I guess his little friends at Daycare told him about the Dark Knight. Anyway, I wanted to post this little candy corn and say Thank You to Laurie at my office. She made the adorable little guy with her scroll saw and painted it too. Super Cute. And she made this one just for me :)
