Introducing...

Garrett Wayne Burchett

Its a BOY!!! We are very excited that Gavin will have a little brother to grow up with! (I'm just excited he's going to have siblings at all :)
Everything looked GREAT.... he is healthy and had all his little organs and his heart was beating wonderfully! We are still expected to meet him sometime in April.

Christmas pictures

Denise came into town this weekend for Thanksgiving - so I asked her to do some Christmas pictures of the little one. We did them out at my work in front of the gorgeous tree and fireplace.

I'm sooooooooooooo stinkin' excited!!

~As for how we are doing - we are progressing nicely. Largely. My stomach is getting huger! And the baby is moving A LOT already. Especially when I eat or drink, the little booger just starts kicking and doing flip flops. Then some times at night when Im squishing him/her, he/she kicks just to let me know. It's such an awesome feeling! Even if I'm in a really bad mood or getting stressed out, I can feel him/her move and it just makes me smile. *I remember Gavin didn't ever stop moving. From the time I could feel him at about 4.5 months - he literally didnt stop until I gave birth. Such a wiggle worm that kid was. (I guess that could explain his never-slow-downness that he has now too :) We are so lucky that God gave us the opportunity to have children and to be pregnant. It truly is a miracle!

16 Weeks

Today was my 16-week doctor appt. It was a very basic appt. I did get to hear the heartbeat again (which was AWESOME) but other than that: I have gained another 3 pounds (GEESH), had my blood drawn for the chromosomal testing, and scheduled my next appt for the sonogram. I won't know my results for the testing for about a week but as soon as I do, I will let yall know. Please keep your fingers crossed and prayers headed this way that the baby is healthy. Then the next appt is Dec 10 - we will check the bones and spine and heart and see if it's a he or a she :)
*I recorded the heartbeat on my phone and I've tried to post it on here but I just have NO IDEA how to do that. So if you want to hear it, just let me know and I can either text it or email it to you. It's very fast and loud... my BFF asked if I was pregnant with Clydesdale horses ;)

Spur of the moment photo shoot

Last Sunday we took Edward back to DFW and we stopped for a potty break right outside Weatherford at a Roadside Park. While Daddy went potty, Gavin & I jumped out of the truck and took some pictures (with my phone - so they arent the best). The background was just so perfect for pictures... the trees, the leaves, the country. I wish I had more time and a big fancy camera for moments like this. (Mainly when Gavin will actually *let* me take his pictures!)

Michael Jackson - This Is It

This past Saturday, my Momma and I went to see the Michael Jackson movie "This Is It". It was basically a bunch of his rehearsals and practices getting ready for the upcoming concert series. IT. WAS. AWESOME. Every one of our favorite songs... getting to see them performed on stage. It made me SOOOOO sad that I will never get the chance to see him in concert now. At least before he died, there was that little bit of hope. I can only imagine what the real concert would've looked like because the freakin rehearsals were AWESOME! He is such an amazing performer and dancer and all those people that dance and sing with him are too.... geesh. Im just still so sad that he's gone. Anyway - I took pictures during the movie :) Even videotaped "Thriller". OMG - it rocked!

Trip to Abilene

Several weeks ago, my Mimi & I went to Abilene to see Mom. We did a little shopping and of course, a little goofing off.

13 weeks

Huge. That's about all I can say about my not-even-done-with-my-first-trimester belly! I didn't even *think* about getting this big with Gavin till about 5 months. (But they do say that you tend to bump out a little faster with the 2nd one). So I will quit stressing about it. But Seriously. Huge.

12 Weeks

We had our 12 week check-up appt on Friday. First they weighed me (Holy cow... I gained 5 pounds!!! In ONE month!) then sent me to my little room. The doctor came in and put the squishy cold stuff on my belly to look around for the heartbeat. After a few seconds (felt like HOURS) of searching... he found it :) Gosh, it was pumping so fast! He said everything sounded great! And not to worry about my weight gain. I am a little older than I was with Gavin and my metabolism has slowed a little, plus my body is in "weight gain mode" right now. So I was okay with it. He did say that they took a look at my blood-work and my platelets are already low. (With Gavin, they were fine at my 8 week appt and 28 week appt. They were very low the day I gave birth. Which is why I wasn't allowed to have an epidural. To have an epidural, the platelets must be over 100 - mine were 68!) So he said we would keep an eye on them and if they are still low at 28 weeks, he might start me on some meds to raise them. As of right now, I'm not worried at all. ~ I guess unless I cut my finger off or something... I don't have enough platelets to clot!!!

Anyway, my next appt is Friday, Nov 13 (16 weeks). We will do more bloodwork to test for Down's Syndrome, Trisomy 19 and a few other chromosomal abnormalities. I will keep yall posted :)

Baby Christian

Our friends, John and Christy Christian are also expecting a baby! They have Cameron (age 9) and Chloe (age 3). Christy is 2 months ahead of me - which means she just had her big 20 week sonogram. They found out they are having a BOY :) YAY!!! Congratulations!!!!

~ Just FYI ~ Gavin is 2 months older than Chloe. The new Christian baby will be 2 months older than the new Burchett baby. How cool is that?!?!?
(The first time around was kinda planned.... this one was NOT at all :)
